Challenges

    File uploads: Ed needed a familiar system to upload his music's covers and audio files.
  • 2
    Customization: For Ed I wanted to build a system where he would be autonomous, with minimal costs on his part.

    Brand: Ed had a clear brand image in mind, and provided me with a lot of directions and assets for it.

Solutions

    Notion: Notion gave us the structure to have multiple tables for the structured data and files that needed uploading, as well as text blocks for all the copy around the website.

    File Uploads: the Notion API allows us to upload image and audio files to Cloudinary once they are fed into the Notion tables.
  • 3
    Figma: We used Figma to collaborate and brainstorm on the design and the functionality, allowing me to work in an organized way, and Ed to give real time feedback.

Project Status

The project is in production on Netlify and gets used daily by the client to showcase his work. It has been a very collaborative project between me and Ed, and we are looking to add more features in a near future.
Since Notion has been used to manage content, Ed can autonomously change all data in his portfolio and use a Netlify hook to deploy the changes.
