Welcome to the greatest place on the internet!

What is the Indie Web and why is it so important?

The Indie Web is a sub-community of hobbyist and professional website creators that engage in creating personal websites that do not fit into the modern standard of work portfolios.
The Indie Web is not ruled by algorithms, but by old school webrings and glitter-y blinkies.

Everyone's different, and so should be their websites

  • 1
Free to be a CSS artist 🎨: No algorithm means complete creative freedom, both on the good and on the bad side of the spectrum
  • 2
Old school culture: Turns out, blinkies never left the chat, and neither did weirdly personal and rant-y blogs. They just moved.
  • 3
Dance like nobody's watching: Because they're probably not.
The Indie Web is a recent discovery for me, but I love it deeply. It allows for me to be creative with coding once again, without the restrains of having to do this for a living and following design rules and trends.
Below, you will find the link to my indie website. Beware, it is not thought to be a work thing. There are swear words and blog posts where I go on and on about a particular TV show character, or where I talk about a random hobby, or what goes on in my life. It's a free, crative space.
If you can't take it, or find it cringe, you're free not to click 😎. There's a screenshot of it just above, so you can see how cool it looks.
Also, right here on the right is my video on the Indie Web, where I go deeper into what it is and why it's so cool. [WARNING: the video is in Italian]

Still convinced?

I don't blame you, it sounds very cool! 🤓
As I said, browse with caution, and don't blame me if something makes you cringe, because that's the hole point! Sometimes, to be cringe is to be free 🌈
